Guided & Open Play

Open Play is intended for players who know NMJL rules and can play independently. Guided Play is for beginners who have completed introductory mahjong lessons and are looking for light guidance during gameplay. The sessions take place in the main parlor during regular Open Play hours. An instructor is available to answer questions and help guide the game forward. When registering, please indicate your skill level (beginner, advanced beginner, intermediate, advanced) so we can try to seat you with players at a similar level. Please bring your NMJL card if you have one. We have a limited number of loaner cards available at the parlor. - Complimentary snacks and beverages are always available.
